Don't trash your wedding dress. Use it to fight cancer!

On June 20th I'll be photographing at the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life: an overnight non-competitive relay to celebrate cancer survivors and pay tribute to the lives of loved ones.

I'll be there on behalf of The Bride's Project. How's this for fun: all the brides will be wearing wedding gowns and tiaras! If this isn't a better use of a wedding gown vs. the trend of trashing your dress I don't know what is.

Who knows? Maybe husbands will arrive in tuxedoes!

In Canada, Relay for Life first started via Ottawa in 1999, came to Toronto in 2001, and is now a national event. But it's bigger than just Canada. It's international.

The relay starts at 7pm, June 20, in central Toronto. For more info visit: Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life and The Brides Project.

Cancer took my father's life very quickly at the age of 65. Diagnosed the end of September; he died 4 months later. I hope he's in a peaceful place.
